The Parliament Building (Bundeshaus) in a whole new light.
October 17 to November 30, 2014
This fall, the Parliament Building will be put in the spotlight for the fourth time with a completely redesigned sound and light show. “Rendez-vous Bundesplatz” (Rendezvous at Parliament Square) will once again be showing the federal parliament building in a truly special light. From October 17 to November 30 there will be two shows every evening at 7.00 p.m. and 8.30 p.m., with this year’s theme “A Journey Through Time in Paradise”. This year’s show originates from the time laboratory in the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) in Wabern/Bern with one of the most precise atomic clocks in the world. The FOCS (Fontaine Continue Suisse) measures the “time of our time”, which seems to be constantly accelerating, with an accuracy of one second deviation in 30 million years. In the show staging city time zones suddenly become mingled, sometimes running backwards, are blocked, and change hours at second speed… Times on the planet are thrown out of kilter, going "haywire”. The interplay of music in a variety of styles and monumental images meticulously fitted to the building creates a very special sensory experience. Two presentations are held each evening. Daily at 19:00 and 20:30, with the exception of November 23 and 24 (Onion Market).
